This tiny red fruit, which looks like a rose hip, is also known as goji berry among the people. Goji berry, which grows in China, Tibet and Mongolia and then succeeded in making its name known to the whole world, is now grown in many parts of the world because it is resistant to cold and hot weather conditions.
Goji berry plant can be grown in almost every region of our country. It has been observed that the yield and quality are higher at higher altitudes. The altitude value is between 200 and 2000 meters. They are grown in high regions because they do not like moist and excessively watery soils. Their color is red.
It is possible to grow the goji berry plant in two different ways. While the first method of production is the cutting method, the second method of cultivation is from seed. It is also possible to produce by tissue culture, although not so much.
Goji berry plant produced by seed, if there is no low race goji berry tree within 3 km, pollination does not occur and has the same characteristics. When the average temperature is between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius in the seed sowing environment, germination should occur between 7 and 10 days. This average temperature may vary, and it is possible for early germination to occur depending on the type of seed. These applied processes should be carried out by checking them regularly in the greenhouse environment.
